The discussion is further supported by a number of properly labelled diagrams and tables.

Ample answers, hints and solutions to all these exercises are provided to help students achieve maximum elucidation of each topic.
•Inclusion of Activities: In order to encourage ‘Learning by Doing’; a number of activities are included in many chapters. Each activity can easily be performed by the students by using commonly available material in their homes and school-labs.
•Useful ‘Question Bank’: A ‘Question Bank’ in the question- answer format is included at the end of the book. It contains a large collection of most such questions as find favour with the examiners. Students can use them for revision and consolidation of their studies as well as to learn how to answer different types of questions during their exams.

This book takes you from initial electricity concepts with an easy-to-follow reading and water-to-electricity analogies suitable for high school students to understand and visualize. Each chapter is well-sequenced from one to another. Dr. Sood also puts a great emphasis on solving problems and application of the physics equations at the end of each chapter. I would like to see a laboratory practice companion workbook with this book.

If you are at a stage (like I was) where your classmates seem to be solving complex problems and you find yourself struggling with the basic concepts, this is the book to get your hands on. The author's easy writing style -- void of complicated jargon -- will soon help you play with the most hazardous current electricity problems.

A Story Within A Story That Left Me Speechless

As a UFO researcher I have never read a fictional book about UFO’s. I didn’t have an interest because frankly, I wanted to read about true life sightings and scientific evidence. After a while, even the scientific ones seem to blur together and you don’t know if they agree or disagree about Extraterrestrial life. This book is written in a genre called “faction.” Truth based fiction.
I have no doubt about the authors real life conclusion after reading this book. Abduction in My Family is like finding a rare gem in the attic. The first time I read it...I clearly recognized remarkable similarities among the fictional characters in the books and real life abductees. In fact, the abduction scenes were so authentic I found myself feeling kind of apprehensive while I was reading it. I have just re-read it a second time all the way through. It’s a flying saucer ride you will wish would not happen to you and your family for sure. My heart was up in my throat quite a few times.
If you think this is only a work of fiction think again. I challenge you to read between the lines and you will see a story within a story unfolding and being more of a smoking gun that you could ever imagine. Dr. Maccabee’s ability to draw you into the story with pages of real life evidence woven between the pages with will make you think good and hard.When you get to the final chapters you will go back and read it again and be blown away as I was.Many people in the scientific community will echo a line from the book when they complete Abduction In My Family: A Novel of Alien Encounters. What if it’s been covered up by rational people to made to look ridiculous and I am one of those rational people? I give Abduction in My Family: a Novel of Alien Abduction five stars.

I just think he's a better case profiler than storyteller

for the convinced ufologist the first half might be just a refresher for some overlooked important details concerning famous and peculiar ufo cases and perhaps too involved for the uninitiated. The story gets very personal and I'm not sure if the Maccabees narrative style does enough justice to the true gravity of the story. its an interesting book about the abduction phenomena to be fair. I just think he's a better case profiler than storyteller.

I received a free kindle copy of Becoming a Greek God: Shredded Through Calisthenics and Street Workout by Andrew Creager in an Amazon promotion.

I gave this book four stars. He gives information to aid in success in exercising as well as improving your health. Something that impressed me was he strongly suggested getting a physical first & following your doctor's advice.

Another point of interest was focusing on the physical & mental benefits of exercise. It can help anxiety, depression & other mental illnesses. In addition you can lose weight, get in shape & have a healthier lifestyle.

If a person is new to working out, using weights is not necessary. Body weight alone is sufficient in the beginning.

Nutrition is an important part of becoming healthy when working out. Staying appropriately hydrated is important as well. Wait at least three hours after eating to work out.

Remember to stretch. After stretching, warm up. Also cool down by gentle stretching again.

Different body parts worked out on six days. Take one day to rest & heal.

This book is a comprensive primer on how to get fit & healthy.

I think this Calisthenics book has been very detailed in this discussions of the things one needs to know about it before actually starting on it. It has the needed precautions too. And another thing is that there are separate chapters that discussed lengthily each of the major muscle groups like the legs, the core, the chest, the back, the shoulders, the arms. And the promise to become a Modern Spartan, Greek God is also tempting. I think this book has been done for the health buffs out there to be equipped with the essential details about Calisthenics.

I have read somewhere that Calisthenics is a muscle building technique that allows you to work out anytime, anywhere, without using any equipment, while still achieving the same results as you would in a gym. So I bet, this exercise regime appeals to a lot of health and fitness buffs out there. Going to the gym is an ordeal for most people, so for them other alternatives are always welcome. About the Author
Edwin Abbott Abbott (1838-1926) has been ranked as one of the leading scholars and theologians of the Victorian era. He received highest honors in mathematics, classics, and theology at St. John's College, Cambridge, and in 1862 began a brilliant career, during which he served as schoolmaster of some of England's outstanding schools. At the same time he distinguished himself as a scholar, and in 1889 he retired to his studies. Although "Flatland, a literary jeu d'esprit, " has given pleasure to thousands of readers over many generations, Abbott is best known for his scholarly works, especially his "Shakespearian Grammar "and his life of Francis Bacon, and for a number of theological discussions.

Great Paper and Cover Quality, but Lacks the Original Diagrams!

This is a better printing of a public domain book than most I have seen on Amazon. The paper quality is nice, there is a table of contents, it has chapter headers, it has a non-default word processor font, stuff you don't usually find on most cheap "copy and paste" cash grabs like this.

However, this is still mostly copy and pasted. The book lacks the original diagrams that accompanied the book, which I imagine the person that printed this couldn't figure out to include them. There are also formatting errors, like on page 19 there is some strange giant spaces in the middle of a sentence.

Overall, I payed less than 4 bucks for this, and it's perfectly readable. But with the lack of diagrams and proof reading, the PDF version of this book is closer to the original.

This is beautiful, my only complaint is that the paper is very, very thin. Makes it hard to work with and write on. I think they are trying to save paper, which would make sense in a product about trees. Otherwise it is great. Just one star off for the paper.

Tim Grabham is a filmmaker, visual artist & animator. His background of music performance recording & composition is instrumental in the approach, subject matter and audio aesthetics of his work. After 10 years of live visual and analogue projection installations across Europe, he established the independent studio ‘cinema iloobia’ www.iloobia.com in 2003. As well as directing music videos and editing documentaries including Bassweight (2010), the award-winning Soka Afrika (2011) and The Fade (2013), he has made KanZeOn (2011), a sensory exploration of sound in Japan co-directed Neil Cantwell.

…The slime mould does exist, of course, but it was its sheer obscurity, the dearth of readily-available information about it and its invisibility to those not actively looking for it that originally got me hooked. What equally interested me, as much as the mystery of the organism itself, was what had prompted other people to tumble down this same rabbit hole. What was the source of their interest, and how had this shaped their understanding of the world? In articulating these questions, both Tim and I became thoroughly aware that our own budding fascination with what we might term “myxomycology” and our attempts to explore and explain this curious creature through the medium of film were complementary to our contributors’ attempts at expanding the overall knowledge base. We realized that in recording slime mould behavior in as much detail as possible with the means we had available, we were embedded within a similar process of practical research as them. Our approach to portraying what a slime mould “is” was therefore framed through the distinct prisms of each of these contributors by, as Tim phrased it, “observing and immersing the audience into the worlds of the observers and the observed.” Be they mycologist, artist, computer scientist or musician, all of our human subjects had their own different relationships with the organism, which combined together, we hoped would elucidate its various aspects to give a better overall understanding of an essence that could never be truly understood in its totality. In all of this, we also wanted to invoke the possibility of the slime mould itself as an active collaborator, entertaining the question of what we are to it and how it looks upon us. In order to negotiate its way through its environment, the organism senses the world in a very different way from humans, in terms of its perception of light, smells and, most notably, time. After all, they creep very slowly… The obvious fact that dawned on us was that our human-centric view of the world has been intrinsically conditioned by our own perceptions, primarily of vision and hearing, and that this has been reinforced by technologies of recording and reproducing the external environment (i.e. the movie camera, audio recorder). However, the resulting consensual reality is a reality in only a limited sense, and a reality quite divorced from the perceptual world of the slime mould. This seemed something that might be very interesting to explore.
