Excellent book to have around when that 6-legged (or 8-legged) ...

I've had the 2nd edition for years and was waiting for a new edition. The new color coding of chapters really helps when a fast lookup is needed. Excellent book to have around when that 6-legged (or 8-legged) "friend" appears that you've never seen before.

Beautiful book and a real tribute to Charlie Hogue
By AGA
Beautiful book and a real tribute to Charlie Hogue. I would suggest a better review of the "urban" insect pests such as cockroaches in future editions. There are many new and well-established pest cockroaches in the Los Angeles basin including the Turkestan and smokybrown.

Hands down the best SoCal bug guide
By J. Hall
If you have young kids and live in the SoCal area, then this book will turn your backyard into an adventure. Our five year-old takes it to school with her and is learning to read from it.
