I had to read it for one of my classes, and I'll admit that if had seen it in a library, I would have not have gotten it, because that cover and the title was boring, and this is why my teacher had us read it. The words I thoght were a bit challenging and so was the story line. Also, I would not recamend it for younger children because there is vilence and death at the end. I would not recamed it for younger children because it has some adult themes(like birth and things like that.) And if my teacher ever reads this, your awesome!

The Year 2016 is set to be a big year and you are going to need the Audubon Engagement Calendar to keep yourself on schedule and remember those important dates.
It is an election year, so write down the day of your caucus or primary Election Day. Write down the dates of the televised debates and the Republican National Convention (July 18-21) or Democratic National Convention (July 25-28).
This wire spiral-bound calendar begins on Monday, December 28, 2015 to Sunday, January 1, 2017.
Inside are 57 beautiful photographs of scenic nature with an informative description of each photo, location and name of photographer.
The lettering of the months, days and numbers are big enough to read. Each entry of the day has space of about 6 inches wide X 1 inch high to write your appointments, meetings, video conferences, travel dates, hotel reservations, phone numbers, birthdays, anniversaries, brunch, luncheons and dinner reservations. An Old Favorite, All Ready for 2016

I use this engagement calendar every year, and have already started filling in appointments--it's only September, which goes to show you how much I rely on these appointment books! The pictures are outstanding, one for each week, and the spaces within which to write in appointments are just large enough, with no "extras" like lines and quotations and things that drive me crazy. Henry Ford (July 30, 1863 – April 7, 1947) was an American industrialist, the founder of the Ford Motor Company, and sponsor of the development of the assembly line technique of mass production. Nothing changes

Sometimes with the pace of business we don't take the time to review the thoughts and concepts of the great people of the past. When I read this book I was amazed at his level of thinking. We tend to believe that "our" generation is always coming up with the great thoughts and ideas. If this is your thinking you need to step back 100 years or so to the life and times of Henry Ford. All we are doing is reinventing what he did.

"A fascinating look at the works of an early industrialist"

It was amazing to read that many of the ideas and ideals around the turn of the twentieth century are still used today. Ford goes into great detail describing the origination of the Ford motor company, the labor force, the assembly line, and financial situations of the company. At a time when most of the male workers across the country were working for fifty cents a day, Ford incorporated a minimum wage of from three to five dollars a day. Henry Ford did a good job writing this book as well. There were several examples of sage advice include which are quoted by speakers and writers to this day. He was truly a visionary, business minded genius. The world was certainly improved by his presence. I'm looking forward to reading other of his works in the future.

The Mind of Ford

First I want to tell you what this book is not. It is not a biography. It really isn't a biography of the Ford motor company either. What it is is the mind of Ford on paper. Henry Ford was a pure genius! This book is about how Henry ran his company and about his thoughts and ideals on business. You will really get to know the man behind the company in this book. A few of the chapter titles are "What I Learned about Business", "The Secret of Manufacturing and Serving", "Wages", "Why Not Always have Good Business" and "Money - Master or Servant". This is one of the top business books ever written. I think it was written very well and it just grabs your attention from the begining. If you are looking for a great business book or just a great book about the real Henry Ford then you need not look any further. He certainly was one of the best business men to ever live.

Downer examines the intelligence of a variety of animals: worms, slime molds, bees, spiders, ants, shrimp, and jellyfish. This slim volume is superficially deceptive: though crowded with full-color photographs, drawings, charts and side boxes, it's intended for an older audience than it would seem at first glance. However, the text is still accessible. The importance of scientific experiments and data is emphasized. Readers will discover that bees can learn to associate an abstract symbol with a sweet-tasting reward or a bitter-tasting punishment. Charles Darwin realized that earthworms were expert soil engineers with the ability to navigate their world through trial and error. Animal behaviorists believe that octopuses have personalities. The female tarantula hawk wasp can analyze surroundings and compare size and volume when hunting her prey. Extensive back matter makes this title perfect for research. About the Author
Ann Downer was born in Virginia and spent part of her childhood in the Philippines and in Thailand. She is the author of five fantasy novels for young readers and three previous books about science, including the award-winning Elephant Talk: The Surprising Science of Elephant Communication for Twenty-First Century Books. Her first picture book, Shark Baby, was published in 2013. She lives outside Boston, Massachusetts, with her husband and son. Their backyard is visited by woodchucks, skunks, and rabbits, but no bears so far.

Lovely and fascinating book for kids, but adults may enjoy it as well!

Did you know that octopuses will play with legos and jumping spiders are capable of planning things? In this fascinating book, there are interesting facts about spineless, yet intelligent creatures such as worms, jumping spiders, octopuses, mantis shrimps and box jellyfish. There are lovely photos, drawings and charts, and a simple explanation of biological classification. From honeybees to wasps, argentine ants, and slime mold, we find out how they think and learn and what we have learned from these spineless and brainless creatures. The book is great for students in grades 4 to 8, but even adults may find the information in this book quite interesting and fun to read. I received this book free to review from Netgalley.

About the Author

Steve Byers received his B.A. and M.A. from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO. His Master’s Thesis, entitled “A reconstruction of the skull of Gigantopithecus blacki”, formed the basis for YFX Studio's full reconstruction of Gigantopithecus on display at the San Diego Museum of Man. His first teaching job was at the University of Southern Colorado (now call Colorado State Universiy, Pueblo) where he taught Anthropology for two and a half years. From there, he worked as a social and psychological researcher until he decided that his true love was Anthropology. He enrolled at the University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque, NM, where he studied skeletal biology and bioarchaeology.

Since graduating in 1992, he has taught part-time at the various campuses of UNM as well as Santa Fe Community College. When given the opportunity to teach a forensic anthropology class at UNM in 1998, he realized that the field lacked a comprehensive textbook. Since no one appeared to be writing one, he decided to take on the project. The first edition of his textbook, published by Allyn and Bacon (since subsumed under Prentice Hall), appeared in 2002, and has been put into new editions three times. The book received a very favorable review in the Journal of Forensic Sciences, as well as several regional anthropology associations.

Item was in good condition, but content less that ideal

This book was assigned for a class, however, I feel the book covers forensics very superficially and would not be a good buy if you're considering forensics professionally. I still keep referring to Tim White's Osteology book for better supplementation.

Good Textbook overall for Introduction

Introduction to Forensic Anthropology was a good text book for learning the basics of Forensic Anthropology, it did a great job for the most part. Unlike the 3rd Edition it has been updated and the terms used in the textbook are more accurate. Some of the methods it describes as great methods in the field are not as described can be miss leading. This textbook is definitely for Forensic anthropology, if you are looking for OsteologyI recommend a different textbook.

About the Author
Born in 1973 Collie James grew up in a rural area of Knoxville Tennessee. He began his working career at age thirteen mowing lawns. Although he can't remember what it was now, there had been something he wanted. When he had asked his father to buy it, his dad replied, "I guess you'll have to get a job if you want it that bad." Collie's father was a WW II veteran born in 1913. He was a man of the old American ways. He believed in working hard and that a boy of thirteen was a man old enough to work. He had done it himself. So, that was exactly what Collie did. Like any other teenager, he moved on to work in restaurants and other jobs, but he always worked. However, he always felt he was destined for more than the average everyday grind although he had no idea what that would be. When Collie was eighteen, he found what he had been missing by accidentally stumbling into a career of acting and modeling. He was content for many years. It was great. All the places he got to travel. All the new and interesting people he met. However, the biggest satisfaction came from the feeling of making people happy by being in the entertainment industry.

Enchanting Read

The Forgotten is an enchanting read, the characters become alive and are so very relatable. It grips your curiosity and pulls at your heart strings all the while leading you through a weave of history and mystery. This book is hard to put down and by the time you reach the last page, it's taken you through a chill, a smile and a tear. This is a well rounded, intriguing, story that pulls you in from page one, if you're a mystery lover, ghost reader or like a good romance you will love reading The Forgotten.

Collie James builds a suspenseful story line that is told with a knack for colorful description. The lead characters possess a wholesome integrity that is refreshing. A good read with a unique flare that will leave one wondering what will come next from this new author.

I couldn't put this book down....I even took it to work with me. I live near the area where the story is based and I loved being able to relate to the settings. Cant wait to read another book by CJ.
