One of the things that made this book so terrific and compelling to read

This book was exhilarating from the first page to the last. I could not put it down and read the whole book in one day.
One of the things that made this book so terrific and compelling to read; was that the author wrote the events of the fire in chronological order. This is a must read.. not only for California residents but for anyone that wants an in depth view on what goes on behind the scenes of a fire of this magnitude.

Excellent, Well-written Book About the Rim Fire in California

This is one of the best books I've ever read about a life-changing event of this magnitude. Hansen's style is straightforward and factual, supported by a large body of research, and first-hand accounts with interviews and accurate fact-checking. This is the kind of reporting we need in today's rather steady market of "yellow" journalism and back-tracking because of inaccurate reporting. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and am ready to buy a second copy, because I gave my first copy to my brother, who is enjoying it, also. This book lived up to it's promise and is worth every penny. I recommend it very highly.
