About the Author
The late James Stewart received his M.S. from Stanford University and his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. He did research at the University of London and was influenced by the famous mathematician George Polya at Stanford University. Stewart was most recently Professor of Mathematics at McMaster University, and his research field was harmonic analysis. Stewart was the author of a best-selling calculus textbook series published by Cengage Learning, including CALCULUS, CALCULUS: EARLY TRANSCENDENTALS, and CALCULUS: CONCEPTS AND CONTEXTS, as well as a series of precalculus texts.

No answers for even number exercises.

I wanted to make sure I was solving all the questions properly as the textbook has answers only for odd number exercises. I am so upset that I bought this book, because it did not solve my problem: I will not be able to know whether I have solved the even number exercises properly, because it has solutions only for ODD number exercises. Thus, if you want to verify your work on even numbers, do not buy this book. It does not have anything on EVEN number exercises. What is the purpose of the solutions manual then? They should have at least given the answers. Honestly, I do not need their solutions, I just need to know whether my results are right or not... Totally disappointed and cannot return the book to the college store after purchasing it.
